  • Cleveland.com ‘s Mary Kay Cabot has reported that Cleveland Browns edge-defender Myles Garrett will miss the team’s Week 8 game against the Minnesota Vikings. Garrett was placed in the league’s concussion protocol this week after the reportedly arrived at the team’s facility with concussion-like symptoms.
  • Garrett, the top-overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft, missed the first four games of the regular season because of an ankle injury, but has done a good job of making up for lost time. In his three games, Garrett has been phenomenal in the pass-rush, producing four sacks, two quarterback hits and six hurries on 65 pass-rushing snaps, resulting in a pass-rush productivity of 15.4.
  • Since his first game as a pro, it has been clear that Garrett provides an instant spark to the Browns defense, and even though he’s played just 57.1 percent of his team’s snaps, he is already the highest graded Browns defensive lineman with an 82.5 overall grade.
  • In his place, second-year pass-rusher Emmanuel Ogbah will likely have to step up. Through seven games, Ogbah leads his team with 14 total pressures (two sacks, two hits and ten hurries) and has been mightily productive against the run, producing 13 run stops on his 133 run-defense snaps, for a run-stop percentage of 9.8 percent that ranks sixth among 58 4-3 defensive ends with at least 43 run-defense snaps.
