  • ESPN NFL Nation writer Michael Rothstein confirmed early Tuesday morning that Detroit Lions rookie linebacker Jarrad Davis left Monday’s game against the Giants with a concussion. Davis played 42 snaps before being concussed on an awkward tackle attempt in which he was pushed from behind.
  • Unfortunately for Davis he was in the midst of a very solid follow-up game to an underwhelming Lions debut. He finished the game as the highest graded Lion at 87.8 overall. Davis made his biggest impact in coverage, surrendering very little into his area and closing quickly on underneath throws. He allowed just 15 yards on three receptions into his coverage. Davis also added a sack coming off a blitz and three stops resulting in “wins” for the defense.
  • This comes just a week after he was the second-lowest-graded player on the team, earning a 35.8 overall grade against the Cardinals. During that game Davis was beaten on seven of eight targets into his coverage for 72 yards. He also missed two tackles defending the run.
