  • Michael Rothstein of ESPN says not to expect much from Detroit Lions running back Theo Riddick during OTAs. Riddick underwent surgery on both of his wrists this offseason and according to Rothstein the goal is to have him 100 percent by mid-August.
  • Riddick has been one of the most dangerous receiving threats out of the backfield in the NFL each of the past three seasons. During that stretch, he has earned three top-five receiving grades at his position, including 93.0 in 2015 which was the highest for a RB in the PFF era.
  • Riddick has also ranked at the top of the league in yards per route run among RBs. He finished first overall in 2014 at 2.45, first in 2015 at 2.32, and 11th in 2016 at 1.46 out of RBs with at least 40 targets in each season.
  • Riddick was also the Lions’ best RB in pass protection last year allowing just two pressures on 42 pass-block snaps. His 75.6 pass-block grade was good for 21st out of 59 eligible running backs.
