Lions' Haloti Ngata decides to return for 2017
- Detroit Lions DI Haloti Ngata reportedly wanted to consult with a neurologist before officially committing to play in 2017. After receiving a good report, Ngata announced he has decided he will return for his 12th season.
- Ngata is coming off an injury-riddled season in which he saw his level of play dip quite a bit. His 47.8 overall grade ranked 69th out of 127 qualifying DIs and was the worst-graded season of his career.
- In 2016, Ngata also earned a career-low pass-rush grade of 48.6. He registered just 15 total pressures on 313 pass-rush snaps.
- Ngata, who has traditionally been one of the best run-stopping defensive interior players throughout his career, earned a run-stop percentage of just 5.9, the second-lowest mark of his career.
