- ESPN’s Adam Schefter has reported that New York Jets wide receiver Quincy Enunwa has been placed on injured reserved with a neck injury, ending his season.
- With Enunwa’s 852 snaps from 2016 lost for the season, second-year WR Robby Anderson (717 snaps) will be relied on heavily in the passing game. The rest of the unit had a combined 652 snaps played in 2016, making experience an obvious concern for the team.
- Enunwa was the clear-cut number one wide receiver on the depth chart heading into the season, coming off a productive year in which he graded out at 75.4 (53rd out of 115 qualifying players). No other wide receiver on the roster graded out above 65.3.
- Enunwa ranked number one out of all wide receivers in 2016 with a catch rate of 80.0 on deep passes (targets of 20+ yards). Third-round rookie ArDarius Stewart (50.0 catch rate in 2016 at Alabama) will likely be forced into a bigger role moving forward.
