  • There are various factors that can determine where a free agent lands, but for new Ravens safety Tony Jefferson, the Ravens defensive scheme was the deciding one. Jefferson stopped by the NFL Network and noted that he used “NFL Game Pass” to watch tape and learn more about the teams pursuing him.
  • While Jefferson's prowess in stopping the run is well noted, he mentioned that he likes being able to cover as well and feels his abilities will be showcased in Baltimore. In 2016, Jefferson posted to date what is a career best PFF grade in (76.3) and his best overall season with a cumulative PFF grade of 88.6, which ranked fifth among all safeties.
  • Paired with Eric Weddle, whose PFF grade of 92.4 in 2016 led all safeties, the Ravens are now in a spot where with Jefferson they have two players who rated among the top five at the position. The tandem immediately becomes one of the league's premier safety duos entering the 2017 season.
