Giants to turn to Geno Smith at quarterback in Week 13

  • The New York Giants announced that Geno Smith will be the team's starting quarterback this Sunday against the Oakland Raiders.
  • Despite just four regular season snaps with the Giants so far in 2017, Smith played 107 in the preseason and saw his overall grade increase each game. His grades ranged from a 49.6 to finishing with an overall grade of 78.6 in the preseason finale.
  • Smith's highest overall grade where he played enough snaps to qualify was as a rookie in 2013 with an overall grade of 62.8 that ranked 34th at the position.
  • One area where Smith showed improvement this preseason was his accuracy. His adjusted completion percentage of 81.3 ranked eighth among all quarterbacks. Of the season's he played enough snaps to qualify, Smith's highest mark of 72.3 percent in 2014 was 26th among signal-callers.
