Giants lose Beckham to ankle injury

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - OCTOBER 08: Odell Beckham #13 of the New York Giants is carted off the field after sustaining an injury during the fourth quarter against the Los Angeles Chargers during an NFL game at MetLife Stadium on October 8, 2017 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. • New York Giants star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was forced from the game on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers with an ankle injury — later reported to be a fractured ankle — after getting his leg caught under CB Casey Hayward on a slant pattern thrown over his head.
  • Beckham battled back from injury in the preseason and was part of a lackluster Giants offense that has been struggling this season, and his 2017 season grade of 67.7 is the lowest of his young career. It also marks a decline in grade every season in the NFL.
  • Beckham had five drops already this season, third in the league and already the second-most of his career over a full season, trailing 2016 when he had 11 drops across 172 targets.
  • Beckham is clearly one of the game’s top receivers, and his loss will be a body blow for a Giants team already rooted in trouble in 2017.
