  • Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said that the team is expecting Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman to travel with wide receiver Alshon Jeffery.
  • The Eagles signed Jeffery to a one-year deal this offseason, after he spent the first five seasons of his career with the Chicago Bears. Over those five seasons, Jeffery’s average of 2.07 yards per route run ranks 12th of 57 receivers with at least 300 targets over that time, and his WR rating (passer rating generated when targeting that receiver) of 90.9 ranks 33rd.
  • Sixth-year cornerback Josh Norman has emerged as one of the top cornerbacks in the NFL over the last few years. Since entering the league in 2012, he’s allowed just 0.97 yards per cover snap, which ranks fourth of 101 cornerbacks with at least 1,000 cover snaps over that time. He’s allowed a passer rating of just 72.0 on throws into his primary coverage, which ranks fifth.
  • The pair last faced each other in Week 16 of the 2016 season, and Norman certainly won the battle. While in coverage against Jeffery, Norman allowed four receptions from eight targets, for 78 yards, while grabbing two interceptions and allowing a passer rating of just 44.8.
