  • Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle expects Houston Texans offensive tackle Duane Brown to hold out of training camp as he looks to restructure his deal. Brown still has 2 years left on his current deal, which will pay him the third highest base salary of any offensive tackle in 2017.
  • Brown has achieved a PFF overall grade above 80.0 in every year since 2010. In 2016, he earned a PFF overall grade of 85.7, which ranked 16th of 81 qualifying offensive tackles. His run blocking grade of 84.8 ranked seventh.
  • He allowed 28 total pressures on 428 pass blocking snaps in 2016, giving him a pass blocking efficiency of 95.0 that ranked 27th of 61 offensive tackles with at least 350 pass blocking snaps. In 2016, Brown was one of just two tackles in the league (Donald Penn being the other) that played more than 370 pass blocking snaps and surrendered only one sack.
