Cowboys fully committed to Taco Charlton on the blindside

  • The Cowboys pass rush troubles last year led them to draft some help in this year’s first round. Former Michigan edge defender Taco Charlton had 50 total QB pressures on 238 snaps against the pass, giving him one of the best pass rush productivity percentages in FBS last year.
  • Everyone knows NFL teams want to protect their quarterback’s blindside, so effectively, being able to rush the passer from the defense's right is a big deal. Last season the Cowboys defensive ends ranked among the lowest in the league when rushing the passer form the right.
  • News from Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett is that the Cowboys will give Charlton every chance to start at right end, which is not a surprise, and he may provide a significant boost relative to Dallas’ 2016 production.
