Cowboys David Irving suspended for four games

  • The NFL has announced that Dallas Cowboys defensive end David Irving has been suspended without pay for the first four games of the 2017 season for a violation of the league’s PED policy. The suspension was first reported on May 23rd, and was pending appeal. Irving's appeal of the suspension was denied, and the ban was made official on Wednesday.
  • The third-year defensive lineman played 530 snaps on the Cowboys defensive line in 2016 and finished the season with a pass rush grade of 76.6, ranking 15th of 118 qualifying interior linemen. Irving earned a pass rush productivity of 8.5, which ranked fifth of 68 interior linemen with at least 140 snaps.
  • This will be the fourth consecutive season the Cowboys enter week one with a defensive starter suspended. Irving led the Dallas Cowboys in total pressures, with 34 and led all returning Dallas defensive linemen in run stop percentage, with 8.5 percent, playing both inside and outside along the defensive line.Irving
