Chargers Melvin Gordon earns top RB grade in Week 5

  • Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon earned the top Week 5 game grade among running backs at 88.5 overall. He was very effective producing yards beyond his blockers earning 3.6 yards after contact per carry while forcing three missed tackles.
  • Gordon was also productive in the passing game catching six of eight targets generating a 1.81 yards per route run average and forcing an additional two missed tackles.
  • On the season, Gordon now ranks third among running backs with an overall grade of 85.7. Among running backs with at least 27 attempts on the season, Gordon ranks seventh in elusive rating at 63.9. He has forced 22 missed tackles and generated 2.7 yards after contact per carry.
