CB Vontae Davis likely to make 2017 debut this week
- Zak Keefer of IndyStar.com said that Indianapolis Colts cornerback Vontae Davis should “make his season debut Sunday night” against Seattle. Davis missed the Colts first three games this year with a groin injury he suffered in the preseason.
- Davis had a career high grade of 95.1 in 2014 and was PFF’s second-ranked cornerback. He played 822 snaps in 2016 while dealing with various injuries, and was ranked 99th of 109 qualifying cornerbacks with a 41.2 overall grade.
- Last season Davis missed eight tackles in only 46 attempts and was 92nd among cornerbacks in PFF tackling efficiency. His yards per cover snap increased from a career best 0.85 in 2014 to 1.04 in 2016.
