- Mike Garafolo has reported cornerback Tramaine Brock has signed with the Seattle Seahawks. This comes a day after Brock met with the Seahawks and a week after domestic violence charges against him were dropped. The Seahawks needed to add a player to the mix at RCB where they currently feature a rookie in Shaquill Griffin and an injured DeShawn Shead who could miss a significant portion of the season.
- Over the past two seasons, Brock has been a bright spot on a maligned 49ers defense and thus played 2,195 snaps during that time. His 2016 grade of 81.7 ranked 21st out of 110 qualifying cornerbacks. In 2016, Brock allowed a catch rate of just 50.0 percent, the fourth lowest mark among all cornerbacks.
- Seattle is known for committing their corners to defending the run and now with the addition of Brock they possess four of the top six cornerback leaders from 2016 in run stops. Brock ranked fourth among cornerbacks with eight.
