C Alex Mack, Falcons restructure contract

  • Reported by Field Yates, the Atlanta Falcons have restructured center Alex Mack’s contract, converting $1 million  of his base salary into a signing bonus which frees up $750,000 of cap space for the 2017 season.
  • Mack has been one of the best and arguably most consistent center in the league since his 2009 rookie season, grading in the top five at his position in six of his eight years. Last season he earned the highest grade of his career at 88.7 overall, which ranked fourth out of 39 qualifying centers.
  • In Mack’s first year with the Falcons, he was dominant as a run blocker, earning an elite run blocking grade of 90.2 overall which ranked second among centers.
