  • Cleveland Browns WR Josh Gordon returned to practice Wednesday, according to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Gordon, who was recently reinstated by the NFL, hasn’t played a snap for the team since 2014 and was previously suspended by the league for 53 of the Browns’ last 58 games. Per Cabot, Gordon is “looking trim, fast, and agile.” He is eligible to return in Week 13 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
  • Gordon entered the league in 2012, and quickly rose to prominence as one of the most talented young receivers in the league. During his rookie year, he was the most targeted wideout on his team, and ended the season ranked first among his teammates with 1.58 yards per route run. He followed on from his first year with his best season as a pro in 2013 — despite missing the first two games, he ended the campaign with 149 targets, eighth-most among the league’s receivers, and racked up 1646 receiving yards, the highest mark among pass-catchers that year. His average of 2.68 yards per route run ranked third among receivers with at least 45 targets.
  • Over those first two seasons, Gordon proved to be an outstanding downfield threat, with 24.8 percent of his targets coming from passes that travelled at least 20 yards downfield. On those targets, he accumulated 770 yards, the eighth-most among receivers, and 10 scores, which tied him with DeSean Jackson for the second-most in that span.
  • If he can return to his 2013 form, Gordon can provide an instant upgrade to a Browns receiving corps that has combined for just 1,070 receiving yards, three touchdowns, and just 0.94 yards per route run, which ranks 29th, 32nd, and 32nd among the league’s offenses, respectively.
