  • Scott Petrak reports, Cleveland Browns RB Isaiah Crowell has asked head coach Hue Jackson for more carries. Jackson reportedly told Crowell that he plans to get him the ball more. Among Browns running backs, Crowell leads the pack in snaps lined up in the backfield by a wide margin with Crowell seeing 81 backfield snaps, Duke Johnson seeing 41 and Matthew Dayes seeing just 13.
  • Despite having a clear grasp on the Browns backfield situation, Crowell has only got his hands on the ball for 29 total touches. On those touches, Crowell has been ineffective at generating yards beyond his blocks. Among 52 qualifying running backs, Crowell ranks 51st in yards after contact per carry while only forcing one missed tackle.
  • Crowell’s overall grade of 40.7 ranks 46th among running backs.
  • These numbers are a far cry from the production that Crowell put up in 2016 when he was very effective with his opportunity.
