Browns fear WR Coleman out with broken hand

  • The Cleveland Browns fear they have lost second-year WR Corey Coleman to a broken hand just two weeks into his second season, a year in which he was beginning to show his ability.
  • Coleman has a WR rating of 103.3, while DeShone Kizer’s overall passer rating is just 55.6, and he had looked like the most effective Browns receiver in a group that is crying out for a playmaker.
  • The loss of Coleman could open things up for 2016 fifth-round draft pick, Rashard Higgins, who had been cut by the team but was signed off the practice squad before the game and ended up playing 55 snaps.
  • Higgins saw 180 snaps as a rookie but only had the ball come his way 12 times over the season, a figure he almost matched this week alone with 11 passes sent his way. He caught seven of them for 95 yards, and some poor QB play held him back from a far better stat line, with three interceptions thrown by Browns quarterbacks when aiming at Higgins.
