- Cleveland Browns cornerback Jason McCourty had a big game against the Jets this past week and with a game grade of 91.6 he was the top graded cornerback of the week.
- McCourty gave up little ground in coverage this game surrendering just 22 yards on five catches into his coverage. Opposing quarterbacks had a passer rating of just 35.1 when targeting players covered by him. McCourty also showed his ability as a playmaker getting his hands on 2-of-7 passes into his coverage, picking off one and earning a pass break up on another.
- Through five weeks of the season, 2017 has been a renaissance to McCourty’s career who has played at an elite level so far. His 91.7 overall grade is the second highest among cornerbacks. McCourty has been stingy in coverage all season giving up a passer rating against of just 52.4.
