  • Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reports New England Patriots wide receiver Brandin Cooks has looked great so far at camp, noting his ability to stretch the field. The Patriots traded their first-round pick to the New Orleans Saints this offseason for Cooks.
  • Cooks is part of the famous wide receiver class of 2014 and his play has lived up to the billing. His 2016 grade of 80.5 overall ranked 28th out of 115 qualifying wide receivers but more notably, Cooks ranked fifth among wide receivers in passer rating when targeted at 119.2.
  • A big part of Cooks’ game is his ability to get deep and last season he ranked fourth in deep ball (throws 20+ yards beyond LOS) catch rate at 45.8 percent while ranking second in deep receiving yards with 544 and third in touchdowns at 4.
