Bengals TE Eifert to have season-ending back surgery

  • The Cincinnati Bengals have announced tight end Tyler Eifert will have season-ending back surgery. The injury along with the procedure is believed to potentially be career-threatening. Eifert has had an injury-riddled career thus far and has now missed significant time in each of the past four seasons.
  • In the two games he played this season, Eifert was off to a solid start this season earning an overall grade of 75.2 on 104 snaps which ranks 14th out of 68 qualifying tight ends.
  • Tyler Kroft will now be the featured tight end for the Bengals. Since Week 3, Kroft has played nearly 92.0 percent of the team’s offensive snaps and on the season, has earned an overall grade of 73.3 which is good for 19th best among tight ends. Kroft has been very effective as a receiver producing the seventh highest receiving grade among tight ends at 80.2.
