Bears QB Glennon believes this is his year

  • The Chicago Bears drafted North Carolina quarterback Mitchell Trubisky number two overall, but Mike Glennon isn’t letting that shake his confidence as the team’s starting quarterback, telling CBS Chicago repeatedly that “this year is my year.”
  • Glennon’s last year as a starter was back in 2014 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, when he started five games and played in a sixth during his second NFL season. His performances earned him a season overall grade of 76.2, good for 23rd among QBs with at least 350 snaps.
  • That was a step up from his 72.1 overall grade in his 13-start rookie season in 2013, which ranked 28th in the NFL.
  • Over both seasons, however, he led the league in percentage of yards in the air, meaning he had the least amount of his production come after the catch. The yards he earned came mainly from his throws, rather than his receivers making plays with the ball in their hand.
