  • Former Wyoming receiver Tanner Gentry has been activated from the Chicago Bears practice squad to their active roster, according to Brad Briggs of the Chicago Tribune. Following season-ending injuries to starting receivers Cameron Meredith and Kevin White, Gentry could see meaningful snaps in his team’s Week 2 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
  • Gentry was signed as an undrafted free-agent prior to the 2017 after establishing himself as an excellent big-play threat at the University of Wyoming. In his final college season, he led all FBS receivers in deep ball targets (49) and receptions (22), and his WR rating (passer rating generated when targeted) of 124.6 ranked 17th of 117 draft eligible wide receivers with at least 54 targets.
  • Gentry performed well on limited looks this preseason, catching all four of his catchable targets for 77 yards and a touchdown. He ended the preseason with a perfect wide receiver rating of 158.3, and ranked third among Bears wide receivers with at least 35 passing patterns with an average of 1.40 yards per route run.
