Hey there football fans! Here are five things from yesterday you need to know to start off your day:

  1. PFF ranked every backfield going into the 2017 season! PFF's John Kosko brought you the breakdowns of every ranking, with Le'Veon Bell and the Pittsburgh Steelers taking the top spot.
  2. Marcus Mariota will play the upcoming season at a lighter weight. Against the recommendations of his coaches, The Tennessee Titans quarterback plans on being at around 215 pounds during the season. Mariota was a streaky passer in 2016, but his best games showed he can be an elite NFL passer.
  3. Travis Kelce was cleared to participate in training camp. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end has been recovering from shoulder surgery but is good to go for camp. Kelce was one of the most efficient tight ends in 2016.
  4. Derrick Henry is nipping at DeMarco Murray's heels for fantasy relevance. PFF's Daniel Kelley investigated Henry's rookie season, which showed a lot of efficiency, if limited to a small work load. Given the age and contracts of both players, it's likely the Titans will be looking to involve Henry more moving forward.
  5. Which rookies could offer you fantasy sleeper value? PFF's Dan Castiglione offered you a selection of many interesting names among the running backs and wide receiver positions. The most interesting of them might be Pittsburgh's James Conner and the Denver BroncosCarlos Henderson.
