5 PFF stats you need to know from NFL Week 6

Miss a moment of NFL Week 6 action? We have assembled five key stats you need to know coming out of Sunday’s slate of games.

1. TE Rob Gronkowksi recorded a reception against six different Cincinnati coverage defenders.

New England's Gronkowski-Brady connection is back in full force, with the tight end racking up a career-high 162 receiving yards against the Bengals on Sunday. Cincinnati simply did not have an answer for Gronk, with LB Karlos Dansby, LB Vontaze Burifict, CB Dre Kirkpatrick, S George Iloka, S Shawn Williams (twice), and CB Josh Shaw each surrendering a catch to the TE. In total, Brady connected with Gronkowski on seven of eight pass attempts for an average of 23.1 yards per reception and a perfect passer rating of 158.3.

2. Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is now tied for last in the NFL in adjusted completion percentage on deep balls, at 27.3 percent.

Through six weeks, Rodgers is tied with Jaguars QB Blake Bortles for the title of least-accurate NFL quarterback on passes traveling 20+ yards in the air. That’s after he completed just two of his five deep attempts in Sunday's loss to Dallas. Rodgers was the lowest-graded offensive player on the Packers' roster Sunday, and despite the fact that his supporting cast has performed well—the Packers rank first in pass-blocking efficiency, running back Eddie Lacy ranks first in elusive rating and wideouts Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson have graded positively—Rodgers and the Green Bay offense have continued to struggle.

3. Seahawks CB Richard Sherman earned just a 37.2 overall grade in Seattle's close win over Atlanta.

Hyped as one of the top one-on-one matchups to watch heading into Week 6, the battle between Falcons WR Julio Jones (83.0 overall grade versus Seattle) and Seahawks CB Richard Sherman was very lopsided. When acting as the primary coverage defender on Jones, Sherman surrendered three of five targets for 40 total yards. Sherman also allowed a 6-yard catch to WR Taylor Gabriel and a 46-yard touchdown reception to TE Levine Toilolo.

4. QB Colin Kaepernick was under pressure on 15 of his 36 dropbacks in the 49ers' blowout loss to the Bills.

That’s not to absolve Kaepernick of what was one of the lowest-graded quarterback performances of Week 6, as he really struggled as a passer against the Bills. But Buffalo is proving to be one of the better defenses in the league so far this season, and the San Francisco QB didn’t get a ton of help from his offensive line. Kaepernick was under pressure on 15 of his 36 dropbacks—that’s 41.7 percent of the time, tied with Browns QB Cody Kessler for the fourth-highest rate of Week 6.

5. Matthew Stafford has been the most-accurate QB in Week 6 thus far; conversely, Carson Wentz has been the least-accurate.

Heading into Week 6, Eagles rookie QB Carson Wentz owned the best adjusted completion percentage among all NFL quarterbacks, at 79.7. After a league-low 60.0 mark against the Redskins on Sunday, however, Wentz drops to eighth in the league this season in that regard. On the other end of the spectrum, Lions QB Matthew Stafford hit on 23 of 31 attempts against the Rams, with four drops by his receivers, one throwaway, and one batted pass at the line of scrimmage, giving him a league-best 93.1 adjusted completion percentage in Week 6. Stafford is now tied with Seahawks QB Russell Wilson for the best mark this season, at 80.7.
