2018 NFL rookie rankings through Week 14

With just three weeks of regular season play remaining, the race for PFFs Rookie of the Year award is as tight as it’s ever been, with players on both sides of the football making a late push to take home the prize. Our current leader has been right in the thick of the race all season long but after 14 weeks he’s finally seized the pole position. Just like we have every Wednesday since Week 1, here are the top-25 candidates in PFFs Race for Rookie of the Year.

PFF Overall Grade: 79.8

Ward currently ranks 13th out of 124 cornerbacks who’ve played at least 200 defensive snaps so far this season in terms of overall grade, and his 84.8 coverage grade ranks seventh. Ward has been put to test as a rookie. The 83 targets into his coverage this season are the 11th-most seen by any corner this year, and challenging him hasn’t gone all that well for opposing QBs, as the 67.3 passer rating he’s allowed into his coverage is the seventh-lowest allowed out of the 69 corners who’ve seen at least 50 targets into their coverage. Ward is one of 32 cornerbacks to be targeted at least 70 times this season. Among that group, he’s one of just five corners who’ve allowed fewer than 450 receiving yards with just 420 yards allowed by Ward through 14 weeks.

PFF Overall Grade: 80.7

Lindsay ranks 12th out of 63 running backs who’ve seen at least 200 offensive snaps this season in terms of overall grade, with his 82.8 rushing grade checking in at seventh. Lindsay is tied for fourth among running backs with 28 runs this season that have gone for at least 10 yards and he’s picked up either a first down or touchdown on 27.0% of his rush attempts this season, which has him tied for the third-best rate among qualified running backs.

PFF Overall Grade: 79.1

Moore ranks 24th out of 130 wide receivers who’ve been on the field for at least 200 offensive snaps this season in terms of overall grade, and he’s the only rookie receiver to rank within the top-40 receivers in overall grade. Moore ranks 22nd among receivers with an average of 2.06 yards per route run and he’s been tough to take down with the ball in his hands. His 15 forced missed tackles are the third-most by a receiver this year.
