Lately, my posts have had a redraft spin, focusing on just 2012 data with an eye towards this upcoming season.
However, I am a Dynasty player at heart. That is why I am excited to announce that I will be writing a weekly “Rookie Watch” article in this space for the 2013 season. Each week, I will be discussing which rookies from the past weekend had performances of note (good or bad). I will also be discussing any news like depth chart movements, injuries, or off field events that will impact the Dynasty value of the rookie class.
The players that are discussed each week will not necessarily be the highest rookies on my board, but those who stand to gain or lose the most value in subsequent weeks as a result of recent happenings.
I thought it would be beneficial to write a preseason rookie piece to discuss which players I have my eye on heading into Week 1. In each article there will be a running top 30 rookie list. This list will be based solely on the value of each player as a Dynasty asset. It is not meant to be used as week to week rankings and is not necessarily indicative of recent performance. Managing a Dynasty football team is just like managing a portfolio of assets, and it behooves owners to be aware of the ever changing landscape of player values.
Here are my current top 30 rookies:
