We stand on the precipice of another glorious football season, which means it is time to set the table for what’s in store this fall. Just like last year, I’ll be writing a weekly Rookie and Developmental Watch looking back at the past weekend and looking ahead to the next for college football players and NFL rookies for the purposes of dynasty fantasy football leagues.
Developmental or “devy” leagues are dynasty leagues where players still in college are eligible to be drafted onto rosters before they enter the league. It's a very interesting format with different risks and rewards than your average dynasty league. Even if you don't play in a league like this, it's important as a dynasty player to be paying close attention to developmental prospect values, as it will serve you well in future years.
In addition to analysis of on-field performance, I will be providing links to news items related to these players such as coaches’ comments or anything else that will help shape the narrative for these truly volatile assets. Every four weeks I will update my top 30 rookies and my top 20 developmental players.
With college football upon us this weekend, I thought I’d delve into my top 20 college players to watch as we head into the 2015 season. Most of these guys are going to end up on dynasty rosters. For now, I’m leaving the scope of this analysis to just the 2016 and 2017 draft classes.
