PFF Week: Out West, Week 4

PFF-Week-Out-WestIt’s your last chance to get caught up on the happenings at PFF before the next slate of games is upon us and our new ‘PFF Week’ posts provide quick access to the week that was. The ‘Out West' edition covers all things pertaining to the AFC and NFC West divisions for a one-stop Saturday shop built to keep you in the loop and on top of your football-watching game.

Going 3-5 in Week 3, the Wests suffered some ugly losses like the 49ers getting whooped by the Colts at home and a Rams team that was steamrolled by the Cowboys. The two victories outside of the division were the Chiefs' win in Philadelphia last Thursday night and Seattle crushing Jacksonville behind the strength of the 12th Man.

Week 3 Wrap

Contained within the Week 3 set of ReFocused articles for the Wests are a struggling Sam Bradford, the Seahawks missing Russell Okung, and an incredible performance by the Cardinals' Darnell Dockett. Without making you wait any longer, we've linked all Week 3 ReFocused articles for you below.

Unfortunately, four players on West teams made the ‘Had a Bad Day' Team: Week 3 including three members of the Oakland Raiders' defense. That will happen when bad defenses come across Peyton Manning at home. On the flip side, a solid number of players made the PFF Team of Week 3 with seven led by huge games from Justin Houston, Darnell Dockett, and the aforementioned Manning. Two West players made the Five to Watch section of Week 3's Race for Rookie of the Year and Tyrann Mathieu fell out of the Top 10.

Looking Ahead to Week 4

There's only one interdivisional game this week for either division and it was Thursday night's 49ers-Rams game. It should be a good week for the Wests to get healthy as they play teams like the 0-3 Giants, the 0-3 Bucs, and the 1-2 Raiders. The toughest matchup will likely end up being the Seahawks' trip to Reliant Stadium to play a solid Houston team.
