Stat to know:
Allowed one total pressure to Texas A&M (Myles Garrett), LSU (Arden Key), and Oklahoma State (Emmanuel Ogbah) combined.
What he does best:
• Elite pass protector. Faced the toughest slate of edge rushers of anyone in the country and yielded only five pressures in 185 pass blocking snaps
• Rare ability to change direction. Gets out of his stance with ease and able to patiently counter any speed rusher
• Locates and attacks linebackers at the second level extremely well
• Built how you’d want a left tackle to look with requisite height and length to consistently land the first punch in pass protection
Biggest concern:
• Doesn’t have crushing movement on blocks starting at the line of scrimmage like some other prospects
• Limited playing time with only 1,086 snaps over the past two seasons
• Will lunge for first punch on occasion
Bottom line:
The cleanest tackle to come out of college in some time. Tunsil simply looks different than your average tackle in the NFL with comparisons to Tyron Smith not being unfounded. With quality offensive line play dwindling around the league, Tunsil’s makeup will be just what the doctor ordered for a tackle-needy team drafting in the top 10.
