Below is the PFF draft profile for Utah State's Kyler Fackrell, which incorporates PFF’s college grades and scouting intel from our team of analysts. To see all of PFF’s 2016 scouting reports, click here.

Position fit:

3-4 outside linebacker

Stat to know:

Third-highest pass rushing productivity among 3-4 outside linebackers in the class

Combine Stats:

Height: 6-5
Weight: 245
Arm length: 33 ¼ inches
Hand size: 10 ⅛ inches
40-yard dash: 4.72
Vertical jump: 34.5 inches
Broad jump: 10-1

What he does best:

• Bends and moves the way you want from a 3-4 outside linebacker (the position he also played in college).
• A team should feel comfortable dropping him into coverage; 192 times last year and still came away with a positive grade
• Excellent with his hands. Gives him the unique ability to employ a secondary move if his initial one is stoned
• Kicked inside and beat guards more than you’d expect. Second-highest pass rushing productivity against guards in the country
• Perfect frame and length for the position, albeit undersized at the moment

Biggest concern:

• Play strength is very worrisome. Few guys play on the edge at his height/weight and he’ll need to add mass
• Similarly, his pass-rushing productivity with the bull rush was below the FBS average. Not a guy who is going to stop a tackle in his tracks
• Lacks the high level burst you’d expect at his weight
• Low level of competition. Graded highly against Utah and Washington, but both featured below average starting left tackles

Player Comparison:

Paul Kruger, Cleveland Browns. Neither are explosive athletes, but they have the requisite juice alongside a handful of other tools to be quality pass rushers. Just don’t expect either to be a three-down player against the run.

Bottom line:

3-4 teams will love Fackrell’s versatility, but his strength will scare some off and might make some 4-3 teams take him off the board alltogether. He might have to be a designated pass rusher early on in his career until he can grow into an every-down player.
