PFF Roundup - Week 2
Each week I’ll be taking a look around PFF Main content and features to see what fantasy insight we can take away to help owners going forward. This week we’re looking at several “same face in a new place” scenarios, with players continuing to make a solid fantasy impact with new teams in 2014.
Miami’s improvement on the ground
Two Dolphins offensive linemen were named to Khaled Elsayed’s All-Star Team of the Week after the regular season start. Left tackle Branden Albert received a +5.4 grade and the highest run blocking grade of any tackle, while Center Samson Satele graded out at +4.1 against the Patriots in Week 1.
Right guard Shelley Smith and right tackle Ja’Wuan James also received positive run blocking grades from that matchup. The Dolphins offensive line was a bit of a question mark entering 2014, but they helped Knowshon Moreno and Lamar Miller average 5.5 yards per carry to start the year.
Moreno did the most of his damage rushing through the A gaps, gaining 86 yards on 14 carries here. Miller was explosive off the right end as he put up 28 yards on three carries.
It should be another solid week for the Dolphins rushing attack. The Bills gave up 82 yards to Matt Forte last week and they ranked No. 28 overall in run defense in 2013. Owners should feel confident leaving Moreno in as your RB2 for Week 2.
