PFF Preview: Giants @ Seahawks, Week 10

2014-Prev-WK10-NYG@SEAThe (3-5) New York Giants visit CenturyLink Field and the (5-3) Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. The Giants are coming off of a 40-24 loss to the Colts at home and the Seahawks a 30-24 win at home against the Raiders. Last year the Seahawks posted a 23-0 shutout of the Giants at MetLife Stadium with Eli Manning being intercepted five times.

Both of these teams have been dealing with banged up offensive lines. Seattle’s tackles versus a powerful Giants duo at defensive end will go a long way toward deciding this game. Seattle played without Russell Okung last Sunday and his status is still up in the air for this week. Okung has been solid when on the field, as his 96.0 Pass Blocking Efficiency rating ranks 18th out of all tackles. If Okung doesn’t make the start the Seahawks will rely on Alvin Bailey who managed a -1.6 grade last week starting at left tackle.

It’s a tough situation at the right tackle spot for the Seahawks as well. Rookie Justin Britt has struggled and his 93.0 Pass Block Efficiency rating ranks 49th out of 56 tackles. The Giants will counter with defensive ends Jason Pierre-Paul and Robert Ayers. Pierre-Paul has our top run grade currently at +17.1 and his 11.3% Run Stop Percentage ranks fourth. Ayers has the 2nd highest pass rushing grade at +18.5 and his Pass Rush Productivity rating of 15.2 is at the top of the list.

Here are a few other players to look out for.

New York Giants

Odell Beckham Jr – Beckham’s +3.8 grade over the last four weeks ranks 12th out of all wide receivers. He also has a 140.2 wide receiver rating when targeted which ranks third.

Jonathan Hankins – His +18.9 overall grade ranks him second behind Gerald McCoy out of all interior lineman and his 10.6% Run Stop Percentage ranks 6th.

Larry Donnell – Donnell’s +3.9 receiving grade ranks eighth out of all tight ends and he currently leads all tight ends in our Drop Rate Signature Stat having not dropped a pass out of 37 catchable targets.

Seattle Seahawks

Marshawn Lynch – Currently our second-highest graded running back on the year at +10.2 while also ranking 8th in Elusive Rating at 63.9.

Bruce Irvin – His +8.7 overall grade ranks sixth out of 4-3 outside linebackers and includes a grade of +2.0 or better rushing the passer, in coverage, and against the run.

K.J. Wright – Wright has a +6.6 overall grade and his 12.9% Run Stop Percentage ranks fifth out of all 4-3 outside linebackers.
