PFF Preview: Falcons @ Packers, Week 14
The NFC playoff race heats up on Monday night as the (5-7) Atlanta Falcons visit the (9-3) Green Bay Packers. The Falcons rebounded from a tough loss to the Browns to win at home against the Arizona Cardinals last week. Atlanta remains tied with the Saints atop the NFC South with one matchup left between the two. The Packers held off a late charge from the Patriots in last week’s victory and are trying to hold their position and snag one of the top two seeds in the NFC.
Two under-the-radar stars will match up this week as Desmond Trufant will get to see some time covering Jordy Nelson. Trufant ranks sixth among cornerbacks with a +12.8 overall grade and also has the seventh-best coverage grade at +9.4. Quarterbacks have a 79.2 quarterback rating when throwing into Trufant’s coverage. Jordy Nelson ranks fourth out of all receivers with a +12.9 overall grade. He also ranks second in Wide Receiver Rating at 125.1 and seventh in Deep Passing with a 47.4% catch rate.
