PFF Fantasy Shines in 2014 Accuracy Contest

AccuracyIt was another banner year for the Pro Football Fantasy team.

For the third consecutive year, the PFF Fantasy staff posted strong performances in the FantasyPros.com 2014 accuracy rankings with two staffers placing in the Top 10 and three in the Top 15. You may recall that PFF Fantasy also notched two Top 10 finishes in 2012 and in 2013.

On the offensive side of the ball, Lead Writer Pat Thorman led the way placing No. 6 overall followed closely by Assistant Managing Editor Jeff Ratcliffe at No. 7. This marks the third time in the last four years that Ratcliffe has finished in the Top 10. Managing Editor Mike Clay followed up his back-to-back second place finishes with a strong performance at No. 11 out of the 125 qualifying industry rankers this season.

The PFF Fantasy staff had Top 10 finishers in each offensive category. Ratcliffe finished No. 8 in quarterback rankings, Clay came in at No. 4 for running backs, Thorman was the No. 6 wide receiver ranker, and three staffers posted Top 10 finishes at tight end – Clay (3rd), Ratcliffe (5th), and Bryan Fontaine (6th). Not to be overlooked, Ross Miles (3rd) and Thorman (1oth) also performed well in the kicker category.

Ratcliffe and Clay currently sit as the Nos. 3 and 4 rankers in the fantasy industry over the last four years. This duo has also performed very well in the FantasyPros Daily Fantasy Accuracy contest. With one week remaining, both Ratcliffe and Clay sit in the Top 15.

PFF Fantasy also took another step toward cementing itself as the top industry resource for IDP coverage. This year marks the fourth year in a row that a PFF Fantasy staffer finished as the most accurate IDP ranker in the fantasy industry. Ratcliffe pulled off the rare three-peat this season, running away from the field for a commanding victory. Miles, who was 2011’s most accurate IDP ranker, finished in the No. 5 spot.
