Performance Report - Week 12

2013-MVP-breesIn this weekly column we'll take a look at the top performer at each position. The goal isn't to just analyze the players individually but to identify variables that make up these top performances so we can more accurately project them in the future.

Quarterback – Drew Brees NO

His Line:   35-45 420 yards 3 TDs, 15 yards 0 TD rushing, aDOT= 7.9, PFF Grade= 4.7

The Saints offense isn't nearly as explosive this season but that doesn't mean Drew Brees can't get it done for you on the fantasy gridiron. Even in a disappointing loss for Saints fans he's our top quarterback of the week.

Brees may not be at the top of his tier anymore but he's still the type of quarterback I would target in fantasy leagues. His team is always throwing the football and he's the centerpiece of the offense. His weapons are dynamic enough led by tight end Jimmy Graham.

I'm usually one to wait as long as possible when drafting a quarterback but I could see situations this season where he came at a significant discount. Like Rodgers, Manning and Brady of late you can pretty much pencil him in for a solid performance each week. This week he showed he still has that top performer upside as well.
