Pay for Drew Brees in Yahoo DFS

Paying for studs in Yahoo hadn’t worked out to our advantage in Yahoo! DFS up until last week. Paying for our big body wide receivers worked out, as Julio Jones, Mike Evans, Donte Moncrief and Michael Floyd all scored touchdowns.

The issue was that our quarterback Zach Mettenberger started out hot, but scored negative points in the second half. Also, Alfred Morris is dead to me after his abysmal performance. Those two essentially killed any chance for us finishing in the money.

Yahoo! DFS is quite a bit different in terms of scoring and pricing, and I would argue that it is the most difficult to consistently do well considering the low salaries.

When taking a players projected point total and dividing it by a lower number, there is less room for error. On DraftKings, salaries range from $2500 to $9500 which make it easier to separate, while the salaries on Yahoo range from $10 to $45.

What that means is that it is tighter points per dollar spent, therefore harder to find the true values.

I took a lot of time on this week’s lineup, and decided to go with a quarterback that was locked in to score points, but may not cost the max. Then I was able to fill out the rest with solid values, along with a few guys to take a chance on in our tournament lineup.
