Welcome to Snaps, Pace, and Stats, which examines trends in snap totals and no-huddle usage. This year I’ll be looking at individual players on Fridays in Advanced Matchup Plays, and it will appear both here and on RotoGrinders. Before that, however, it is helpful to take a 30,000-foot view of the upcoming games, in the hope of finding out which ones will be played on fertile fantasy soil.

Jacksonville at Baltimore
The Jaguars, who allow the fifth-most plays, will be playing their sixth game away from Jacksonville. They have allowed an average of 3.8 more snaps and 9.4 more points when away from home. The Jaguars have run the sixth-most snaps over the last month, and face a Ravens team that runs the eighth-most plays. Each teams paces in the top-six on a seconds-per-snap basis, and ranks in the top-nine in points-per-snap-allowed.
Blake Bortles returns to the scene of perhaps the worst game of his career in Week 15 of last year, when he took 10 sacks and completed just five passes while under pressure. Of course, that Ravens pass rush ranked first, and this year they are 23rd. Their run defense, however, ranks fourth-best, and Jacksonville’s has been feisty on occasion (1.1 yards per carry allowed in Week 9 to the Jets). Both teams struggle in coverage and plenty of balls should be in the air.
