Jarius Wright Wide Receiver For a Fantasy Throwdown
Does anyone else find it astonishing that the receiving duo consisting Jacksonville Jaguars second year phenom Cecil Shorts and rookie Justin Blackmon are the hottest pair of wide receivers teammates in the league over the past five weeks. Both players rank sixth and seventh with 0.42 and 0.40 fantasy points per opportunity. Since week seven in standard scoring formats Shorts only trails Calvin Johnson and Brandon Marshall in fantasy scoring. The numbers for Justin Blackmon are a bit inflated due to his week 11 breakout game of 236 yards receiving and a touchdown but Blackmon. Since Chad Henne has taken over the offense the Jags offense has slowly become more balanced, averaging no fewer than 321 yards per game. The Jaguars coaching staff had planned to rotate Rashard Jennings and Jalen Parmele Sunday against the Bills until Parmele was suddenly designated to IR.
Minnesota Vikings have an interesting match-up this weekend against division rivals the Green Bay Packers. Last week Giants running backs thrashed the Packers for 201 yards from scrimmage, look for Adrian Peterson and the Vikings to pound the ball in an attempt to keep Aaron Rodgers off the field. Peterson should have a very big day. With injuries to the Packers defense AP could continue his streak of nine straight games with 100+ yards from scrimmage, scoring a touchdown in four of his last five games. Percy Harvin looks to miss another game due to a knee injury and one player we love in his place is rookie wide receiver Jarius Wright. Despite being on a week 11 bye, Jarius Wright is 12th coming into week 13 with .53 fantasy points per opportunity. Over the last two weeks without Harvin in the line-up, Wright has managed 10 catches on 15 targets for 115 yards and one touchdown.
