IDP Snap Report - Week 16

massaquoiIt is fantasy championship weekend, but this week’s IDP Snap Report already has an eye towards next year. While there have been a few injuries recently, but there are more interesting situations that could factor into what happens in 2014. There are a number of teams with no playoff hopes who are letting some younger players receive more playing time to see how well they can play. This week’s IDP Snap Report is letting you know who those players are and what they did with their playing time to this point as well as the usual players who are seeing more time due to injury.

Jonathan Massaquoi/Osi Umenyiora

The Falcons are one of the teams out of playoff contention. This has led the Falcons to give Massaquoi more playing time and Umenyiora less. Massaquoi had yet to see more than 60% of snaps in a game this year, but last week he led all defensive linemen on the team at 85%. Umenyiora had been at 59% or better each week, but this week was at 39%. This could very well be the end of Umenyiora ever being fantasy relevant. Massaquoi hasn’t been the most effective pass rusher, but any young player receiving a lot of snaps is worth keeping an eye on.
