It took a long time, but we finally saw more starting linebackers come back from injury than those who got hurt. Quincy Black was the only major middle/inside or 4-3 outside linebacker to get hurt, while a number came back from injury. This week’s IDP Snap Report takes a look at the impact of those who have returned as well as their teammates. There are also two teams who have recently made some changes in how they handle their third down defense, which leaves two players who should score more fantasy points going forward and two who should fewer.
DeAndre Levy/Justin Durant
This week DeAndre Levy returned to the Lions after missing the last two games with an injury. He returned to his usual role in playing in the base defense and taking some snaps from Justin Durant in the nickel defense. Levy played very well in his return with 7 tackles including 4 stops. Even though Durant dropped to playing just 89% of snaps, he still had 9 tackles. While you might notice Ashlee Palmer had 16 snaps even though he was no longer the starter. The reason for his snaps was the Vikings used a number of one wide receiver sets, which led the Lions to play a 4-4-3 defense at times which meant Palmer remained on the field. Palmer should see few to no snaps going forward, while Levy and Durant should remain same fantasy plays.
