In this weekly column I'll highlight some top IDP options that aren't always “must-start” players. I'll also hit on some of the players most likely to disappoint in week 1.
Here’s complete season and weekly projections that can be customized to your league’s scoring for all those tough start/sit calls. For specific questions you can always ask me via twitter @NateNFL.

Start
Olivier Vernon DL2 vs NE
A year ago this week Vernon was an afterthought since the Dolphins had traded up to grab athletic pass rusher Dion Jordan. This season, Jordan's suspended. He also didn't impress a year ago as Vernon solidified himself as the bookend to Cameron Wake. In 2013 Vernon posted double digit sacks to go along with 45 solo tackles and 12 assists. He still may not be a household name but all of our experts have him as a high end DL2 to start the 2014 campaign. So make sure he's starting for your IDP fantasy football squad.
Muhammad Wilkerson DL2 vs OAK
Wilkerson is a tackle machine. If you're in a tackle heavy format with solid value for assists he's actually a must start every week. A year ago he posted 43 solo tackles with a whopping 21 assists. He also added 10.5 sacks which meant he had one of the best statistical seasons of any 3-4 end. He may not repeat those numbers across the board in 2014, but against Oakland's horrendous offensive front he should be in your lineup week 1 without a doubt.
