IDP Breakdown - Week 7 Edition
Home Stats Crew: High volume total tackles; Assist-heavy
Dawan Landry paced the Jets with 13 total tackles in Week 6. He now leads all defensive backs with 54 total tackles on the season. The fantasy world doesn’t seem to have caught up with Landry just yes. So there loss is your gain. Landry makes for a DB1 start on Thursday night against a red-hot Patriots offense. New England has given up at least eight total tackles to a safety in all but one game this season. … Demario Davis and David Harris also topped double-digit tackles in Week 6, but this isn’t surprising. The Jets stat crew has been one of the most tackle-friendly this season. The Patriots’ crew isn’t quite as friendly, but Davis is still worth starting as a back-end LB2. Toss Harris in as an LB3.
There was a rash of injuries to key linebackers in Week 6, but perhaps none more devastation than Jerod Mayo’s knee injury he sustained in the Pats’ win over the Bills. Mayo has a torn patellar tendon and will miss the rest of the season. Deontae Skinner filled in for Mayo on Sunday, but we’re going to see Dont’a Hightower ultimately replace Mayo. Hightower needs to be owned in all formats. Likewise, Jamie Collins becomes a borderline LB1 going forward. … Chandler Jones was back in an every-down role last week, and had an impressive strip-sack. Hopefully his injury issue is now behind him.
