IDP Breakdown - Week 14 Edition
Home stat crew: Low volume tackles; Neutral assist-to-solo ratio
Projected tackles: Dallas – 46.10 solo, 9.34 assist; Chicago – 47.16 solo, 9.55 assist
The Cowboys used Anthony Hitchens as their lone every-down linebacker against the Eagles on Thanksgiving. Hitchens posted an impressive 12 total tackles (10 solo), giving him 38 tackles over the last four games. Those in a pinch at linebacker may want to take a long look at Hitchens. Rolando McClain isn’t playing every-down, so you’re going to want to avoid him this week. … Barry Church has been hot over the last two weeks, but approach this production with caution. Church faced the Nos. 1 and 2 matchups for defensive backs in consecutive weeks. The Bears are nowhere near as strong of a matchup, so Church is likely to regress.
With Lance Briggs on injured reserve, the Bears went with Jon Bostic as their lone every-down linebacker. D.J. Williams and Shea McClellin played along with Bostic in the base defense and Christian Jones rotated in on passing downs. Bostic produced a solid stat line of 11 total tackles (seven solo) on Thanksgiving. He’s the lone Bears linebacker worth owning and should be considered an upside LB2 for the fantasy playoffs. … Ryan Mundy is coming off a monster performance, but much like Church, is a strong candidate for regression this week. Mundy is still a back-end DB2.
