Welcome to Snaps, Pace, and Stats, which examines trends in snap totals and no-huddle usage. This year I’ll be looking at individual players on Fridays in Advanced Matchup Plays, which will appear both here and on RotoGrinders. Before that, however, it is helpful to take a 30,000-foot view of the upcoming games to get a feel for which ones will be played on fertile fantasy soil.'
Week 1 had a little bit of everything, from the usual high and low snap volume suspects again falling into familiar patterns, as well as some surprises. Which ones are beginning bankable trends, and who are the mirages? It’s still too early to say for sure, but we ignore emerging truths at our own peril. Let’s hit four Week 2 games from a snaps perspective, before diving into some up-tempo goodness.
