Fixing Flacco: Fantasy's Most Boring Bargain
If Joe Flacco wasn’t handed the worst contract in football after the Ravens won the Super Bowl, it’s damn close. That’s what happens, even to excellent general managers like Ozzie Newsome, after their teams have success. Pressure from fans, media, and sometimes ownership, forces their hands to draw up insane contracts for mediocre passers miscast as something more.
However, for the narrow purposes of those of us in Fantasyland, we couldn’t care less if a player is a real-football fraud or a legitimate example of that loathsome word – Elite.
Just score us fantasy points, Joe. Maybe log more than two top-12 weekly finishes. And oh yeah, try to be more like Matt-freakin-Schaub while you’re at it…
