A narrative has been gaining steam over the last couple of weeks, which is that Cam Newton is the MVP through 11 weeks. This couldn't ring any more true after we watched Newton pick apart the Redskins defense en route to five touchdown passes, while Tom Brady struggled through an ugly win at home vs. Buffalo.

If you've noticed that Newton has been putting up some gaudy passing numbers as of late — you're not wrong. Over the last five games he's basically ditched his running back ways and started utilizing his arm to beat defenses despite having a very subpar group of receivers to throw to.
