Each week in this space, I am going to be keeping you up to date on all the happenings of NFL rookies and college prospects, otherwise known as “developmental” or “devy” players. Rookies provide some of the best value-creation opportunities in dynasty for experienced, savvy owners because of the fact that they are relatively unknown commodities. Knowing which rookies are (and are not) the real deal, then buying and selling accordingly, is crucial to being a successful dynasty owner.
These are volatile assets that require a long-term outlook, and as such, I find that updating their place in my ranks every week to be a fruitless effort. As I did two weeks ago, I’ll be updating my top 30 rookies and top 20 developmental players every four weeks, and in between I’ll be providing news and notes on anything that will have an impact on the dynasty value of these players.
While there were some injuries, it was generally a good week for NFL rookies at the skill positions. With us being in the purgatory between conference championship games and that start of bowl season, I took a look at CFF's All-American team and compared it to my own dynasty ranks for devy prospects.
