Fantasy Team Previews - Kansas City
Head coach Andy Reid came in last season and brought with him a West Coast offense that was highly successful in his time with the Eagles. Kansas City had a nice run in 2013 finishing 11-5 and bowing out in the first round of the playoffs.
The Chiefs’ regular season success was due in part to a favorable schedule. It doesn’t appear their schedule will be in their favor again this season, as Kansas City faces the 7th toughest schedule on paper with their opponents combining for a .559 winning percentage last season.
Based on last season’s performances, it looks like it might be tough fantasy sledding for Chief’s quarterbacks (27th) and wide receivers (25th). Kansas City running backs get a middle of the road schedule (15th), while tight ends have a favorable outlook (7th).
Former NFL quarterback Doug Pederson mans the offensive coordinator for the Chiefs, but this is really Reid’s offense. As we saw out of Reid in Philadelphia, this is an offense that’s predicated on the pass. Kansas City was decidedly pass-first last season.
